ベイカーパンツは、いつの時代も“定番”である。 でも、その中にも「選ぶべき一本」はあると思っていて。 WORKERSのTrace MIL-838-Dは、まさにそれだった。

オリジナルのミルスペックをなぞった太めのシルエット。 だけど、今っぽく見えるのは、どこか“静けさ”があるからだと思う。

今回から生地がスレン染めになっていて、 以前の硫化染めよりも、色に“深み”と“どす黒さ”がある。 新品なのに、もう何年も穿いてきたかのような佇まい。 服好きには、この感じがたまらない。

毎年、夏のはじまりに1本だけショーツを買う。それが自分のルール。で、今年選んだのがJackmanの“Grace Shorts”。名前からしてちょっと気が利いてる。
触ってみると、コットンとは思えないほどヌルッとした肌触り。けど、厚みがあるから頼りなくはない。形はややゆるめ、丈は膝がちょうど隠れるくらい。理想的。
個人的には、無地の白Tとサンダルだけで十分格好がつくと思うけど、シャンブレーシャツなんか羽織ってもよさそう。
ウエストはリブ＋ドローコードで、脱ぎ履きも楽だし、
“気取らないけど、ちゃんとしてる”って、こういうことかも。

このショーツ、すごく調子いい。

CMFのBUG SHORTS。軽くて、通気性もあるし、街でも山でも違和感がない。ポケットが多いのも実際ありがたい。裏地がメッシュだから、川にそのまま入っても問題なし。服って、やっぱり使えるのが一番だと思う。

こういうショーツって、無意識に手が伸びる。それって、けっこう大事なことかもしれない。
